Dirty Little Secret

Happy Birthday, Lovebug

Dear Lovebug,

Today you are two years old. It seems like yesterday, and forever ago, that we brought you home from the hospital. You still have the same round cheeks and impassioned cry. You are so loving, always asking for another hug or kiss - and giving them too. You love to dance and listen to music. You have fallen in love with trains and can play with your train table for hours. Sometimes the only way to get you dressed is to promise that you can wear your train shirt. And you have to sleep with at least five train cars. You would rather run than walk. You smile so brilliantly and easily, it makes my heart melt every time.

You adore your big sister, which doesn’t mean that you don’t enjoy teasing her. You see running off with her kitty as a joke, she sees it as a tragedy. But you are an excellent sport about giving kitty back and neither one of you holds a grudge. I love to watch you two hug and laugh.

You are so passionate; you scream louder over not getting your way than over getting a shot. You eat ketchup and hummus by the spoonful. Your favorite phrases are, “I go,” “Love oo” (you) and “Thank you.” You love to play in ball pits and you are learning to go down slides all by yourself. You are generally cautious without being fearful and you have an amazing memory.

I love you so much, Lovebug. I’m so proud to by your Mommy.

love,

Mommy
