Your houseguests? Suck ASS.

Re: Lovebug's meltdowns. This isn't directly answering your question, but have you considered baby sign? If he learns a few signs, maybe the meltdowns along with the frustration would come down a notch if the signing would make him feel more understood.

Call Early Intervention NOW. It's my understanding that they can only offer help (if it's even needed that is) until the child turns 3 years old. I need to call for my 18 month old. Even though she's speaking more and more every day, I'm still concerned she's not speaking well enough for her age group, ya know.

And, ps, your houseguests sound like annoying pricks. When are they leaving???

Oh and I just got the kids health insurance issues straightened out about two weeks ago. It took the state 9 months to process our application. NINE MONTHS!! Ugh!

Those housepests are bizarre!

My third child hardly spoke at all until 3 (he didn't say "mom" until 22 months!). I'm sure the "normal" range is much later than 2! It seems to me that your ped is being a bit overly cautious. My now 3 year old still has some mispronunciations, but his speech is excellent.

I'm only on my second pregnancy and I've outgrown my maternity clothes. I am so pregnant that a bare slice of belly peeks out above my maternity pants and below my maternity shirt. Now THAT is wrong. Oh, it's so, so wrong.

Those houseguests? They're jerks. Do they seriously have no place else to go? Geez. Are they heavy sleepers? Could you just move their bed outside while they're alseep in it, then lock all the doors and pretend no one's home? They are the houseguests from hell.

As for Lovebug and his speech - I'm sure everything will turn out fine. If it were me, I'd probably err on the side of caution and call Early Intervention. I know you've mentioned your concern before, so maybe making that call will you give you a little peace of mind.

Also, library story time? FUN! That's usually where I make my sweet hook-ups with other parents. And it's okay if the kids run around. It's what they do. Don't sweat it. Just go and have fun.
